Peter Harvey, previously a professional mariner and UKEC harbour master now applies his skills and experience to a range of marine related enquiries and to a variety of ends.

Recently published by Imray, Laurie, Norie and Wilson is Peter Harvey's 'Norfolk, The Wash and Humber,' a pilot and marine tourism guide for the leisure mariner looking to sail one of Britain's less well-known cruising grounds.

An area where marina hopping is not possible, there are nevertheless, many ways to enjoy what this fascinating region has to offer and this publication is the key.

See www.imray.com www.imray.com or contact the author. (See below).

Just begun is an extensive piece of research which will culminate in a published work and as a sequel to 'A History of Wisbech River' by Arthur A. Oldham. Oldham's original was a detailed account of activity on and around the River Nene from early times, up to the date of publication in 1933.

Since then, much has happened on Cambridgeshire's link with the sea. After all, nearly a century has passed since Oldham put pen to paper.

With the collaboration of the Wisbech and Fenland Museum and the support of The Society for Nautical Research, this new project will capture as much later, modern and indeed contemporary material as possible, not least that locked in the memories of those who have lived and worked on and around the Nene, whether in marine trades or not.

The river has always played an important socioeconomic part in Wisbech life. Too much to lose.
